How to Merge Facebook Accounts | Help me Merge Facebook Accounts now

By With No comments:
How to Merge Facebook Accounts - While  Facebook does not allow users to auto-merge all friends, photos, status updates, check-ins or other information, you can manually merge parts of your FB accounts.  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to migrate or re-create all of your data on FB.

How to Merge Facebook Accounts

How to Bulk Download Facebook Data

As a first step, download your data. This procedure can take a while and the archive will serve as your small backup, should you decide to deactivate or delete your Facebook account. It won’t be of great help in restoring any data, though.

Briefly, go to your General Account Settings and click Download a copy of your Facebook data at the bottom.

This will lead you to a page where you can download your information and get a copy of what you have shared on Facebook.

Now do start your archive on this first page. In addition find where it says You can also download an expanded archive… and click the respective link. This will guide you to the Expanded Archive download page where you will be asked to re-enter your password.

Now here is where you will need patience. Depending on how big your main and your expanded archive are and how many other archives are in the queue, this can take some time. And with that I mean a couple of hours.

Note that you must download both archives, to receive a full backup of your account!

Once your archive is available for download, this is what the page will look like.

Although your own photos are supposed to be included in the archive, you should download your Facebook Photos separately. Not only is this procedure another backup, it is also a lot faster and might provide you with more options.

Restore Friends

As mentioned above, you won’t be able to restore or migrate all of your data and that includes your friends. You need to manually add friends to your new account. Unfortunately, it is not possible export your Facebook friends to a third party account and then re-import them to a new Facebook account.

However, you can import contacts from third party accounts such as Skype or Gmail. So if you have contact details of most of your friends on accounts outside of Facebook, you can take a small shortcut. Go to your new Facebook account and import contacts from any supported third party account (CSV files are also supported) via the Find Friends page.

While you can export your Facebook contacts to Yahoo! Mail, it is not be possible to re-import them to Facebook. And contacts imported from Facebook will certainly not be included in a Yahoo! CSV file.

Note that only contact information of friends who have agreed to have their email address included in information downloads can be imported into your Yahoo! account.

Restore Account Data

Here comes the big letdown. There is no way to upload or otherwise import your archive to restore or transfer data from your old Facebook account to your new one. Whatever you want to restore, you have to do it (semi-)manually or use third party tools. Right now, the archive merely serves as a personal backup, nothing more.

So what are your options? You can re-add your old friends as shown above, re-upload photos you downloaded from your old account, re-tag your friends in your photos, re-join groups you were a member of, re-add Facebook apps, manually re-do all your personal settings, including general account and privacy settings, e.g. secure your Facebook account, add trusted contacts, or hide your personal settings. I wish I had good news, but as I said before, you cannot auto-merge two accounts or restore data, so you essentially start from scratch.

Please share this article with your online friends if it has helped you. Thanks.

How to block and unblock people on facebook | Block and Unblock on Facebook

By With No comments:
Facebook is a great way of staying connected with the people you care about. Apart from that, it helps you in keeping up-to-date with other affairs of the world.

However, often times a friendship turns sour, and we often let our frustration out on Facebook; either by blocking that person or unfriending them. While it is hard to avoid a person in real life, it is quite easy to block someone on Facebook. And similarly, it is easy to unblock someone on Facebook.

So, how do you do that? Let’s find out.

Ways To Block Someone On Facebook

Blocking someone on Facebook is a huge statement. It depicts your intention of staying away from that person for the rest of your life. So, if you have a frenemy, here is how you can block them:

#1.Go to your profile by tapping on your name on the top right corner.

#2.Scroll down to your friend’s list and click on it.

#3.Find the person you want to block from there by searching his/her name in the search bar.

#4.Once you’ve found the frenemy, hover the cursor on their name until you see a small pop-up depicting their short bio.

#5.Now, click on ‘Friends.’ You’ll see a drop down box as soon as you do that.

#6.After that, click on ‘Report/Block’ to block the person and send him/her away from your e-life once and for all. If you want to be a little less harsh and unfriend someone, follow steps 1-5 and then select ‘Unfriend’ from the same drop down box.

After you click on Report/Block, you would have successfully blocked the person. However, what if over the course of time, you two get back together? What if your relationship with your frenemy begins to improve and you become good friends again? Of course, the first thing that would pop into your head would be to unblock him/her. Like we told you, Facebook is much more than just a social media platform, it is synonymous with your personal life, and your actions have the same consequences as they would in reality. Having established that, let’s see how you can unblock someone you had previously blocked.

How to Unblock Someone On Facebook?

Now that you feel that things are good between the two of you, it would be fine to become friends in reality and also on Facebook. But for that, you have to first unblock that person. Here’s how you can do that:

#1.Click the small padlock icon on the top right-hand side of your home screen and select ‘How do I stop someone from bothering me?’

#2.From there, select ‘View All Blocked Users.’

#3.It will take you to a page where you can find all the people you’ve blocked. Click on the ‘Unblock’ button next to the person’s name to successfully unblock them.

How to change Facebook page name fast

By With No comments:
This is better than a few years ago, when the answer was never, no way, not for any reason. Now it’s quite easy to change your Fan Page name. But – Facebook will have to approve your name change.

You can only change once.

A reader has offered a hack even if you’ve already changed your name once. See end of post – caution is advised.

NOTE: When I speak of Page name, I mean the Title of your Page, as overlaid on your Cover Photo. This will NOT change your Facebook Page URL (web address). Check here for how to change your Facebook Page URL and important cautions about doing so.

Changing your Page name is a BIG deal – it must be done right – you can never change it again(through normal channels, anyway). Please read this entire page carefully!
How to Change Your Facebook Page Name

Logged in as an Admin of the Page you wish to change, click About under your cover photo. You should be on the Page Info tab. Click it in the left sidebar if necessary.

Hover the Name section and click the blue Edit pencil that pops up to the right.

Fill in the name you’re SURE you want (WARNING! Cannot be undone or changed more than ONE time!).

Then scroll to the bottom and click Continue.

Check your spelling again. Once you click Request Change, your request will go to Facebook for approval.
If You Don’t See the Option to Edit Your Page’s Name

You don’t have a Page role that allows you to change your Page’s name. Learn how to see your Page role.

You or another admin recently changed your Page’s name.

This option isn’t currently available in your location. source

See below for another possibility.

No Edit Pencil? Here’s What Worked for Me

I changed my Page Name in 2017, so I don’t know if this option is still available. But I’m leaving it here so you can try it. Let me know!

If you’ve never changed your Page name, but still don’t see the Edit pencil, try changing your Page category to Brands & Products or Companies & Organizations, and click Save Changes. The Request Change link should magically appear!

Now click Request Change and fill out the form (sample below).

Note that you have a choice of reasons for the Page Name change request.

If you select that your business name has changed, you will almost certainly be required to provide documentation. Logos, business cards, and websites are not acceptable.

You can choose “Other” and explain in the text area.

My first choice was to change my Page name to match my website: How-To Social Media Graphics, and explain in “Other” that my business had evolved. I decided that had a high risk of being rejected.

I chose to request a very similar name to my then-current Louise Myers Graphic Design: Louise Myers How-To Graphics. I then selected “My Page name is misspelled” as the best option. (Don’t even ask how long I deliberated over this!)

Note: Hyphens (as shown in the screen shot) are no longer allowed in Facebook Names – either Page or personal profile.

  • Before submitting your Page name change request be 100% certain of 2 things:
  • This is the Page name you want for the life of your Page. At this time, just ONE change is allowable.
  • Your Fan page is 100% compliant with Facebook Terms of Service. Your Page could be shut down once it’s scrutinized by Facebook. Click with caution!
  • Upload any pertinent documentation, and click Send.
  • Wait to Hear from FB on Your Page Name Change Request
  • You should get an auto-reply quickly. I can’t say how long it will take for Facebook to review your request and respond – the auto-reply says up to 3 days. For me it only took one day plus a half hour. And it was approved!
I hope this guide was helpful?
